Assessor Comments
672 VGQ vendor bred NSM 2.5 - 6.5 year old (there are 6 x 7.5 year old red tag sound ewes) “Terrick & Gowan Blood” Merino ewes. The majority are in good store to forward store condition 5 weeks off the board. Ideal Ewes to rejoin to a ram of your choice as they are good sound ewes that would raise another lamb on good feed. The Abbotsford weaners are classed every year by Peter Clark. The Green tag ewes failed to raise a lamb while the balance of the ewes had 85% lambs weaned off them at shearing, 5 weeks ago. Backlined with Avenge at shearing & will be out of WHP but will be still in ESI period. There were a couple of ewes assessed with only one ear & there were several ewes with scalley tips to their ears. There were several ewes with dark pigmentation either on their lip or around their eyes. There had been falls of 10mm & 2mm of rain in the two previous nights cutting the ewes up a little. Most of the score 2 & 3 ewes were Green tag ewes & other ewes that had not raised a lamb.
