Assessor Comments
The Gingie Merino stud and flock established in 1889. Vendors regularly purchase the top stud ram, regardless of price, from Haddon Rig for use in the stud. In 2008, Poll rams where introduced and soon after exclusively used in the commercial flock. 2013 176 Moorundie Park Polls were purchased, SIL to A323 and B100. That same year 50 Uardry Poll ewes also purchased, AI also used. The Gingie sheep are classed with emphasis on length of body, fertility, wool length, softness, PWWT, EMA and conformation. “Free growing, easy doing sheep”. In 2020 the Gingie flock raised and weaned 123% of lambs on an as joined basis. After consistently producing highly productive, top quality sheep for over 131 years a change in direction on Gingie presents you the astute breeders with a once in a lifetime opportunity! The entire 2020 drop of Gingie blood merino ewes! Only the tail has been removed. Complete drop of 2400 ewe lambs presented for sale in truckable lot’s delivered as a run out the gate.
