Assessor Comments
On offer as part of the Killenbutta Pastoral flock dispersal are 146 Poll Merino ewes, 2022 drop. The Killenbutta flock has been based on Kerin Poll bloodlines, and classed annually by the late Paul Kelly. The flock is only being dispersed due to the passing of the late owner Bill Evans and leasing of the property. These ewes are mulesed, January shorn and SIL at 114% to Kerin Poll and Rocklyn Poll Merino rams. Rams are selected on a balance of ASBVs including PWWT, YWT and fat & muscle as well as fleece weight. These rising 2 year old ewes show good frame and would continue to go ahead on quality feed, and were drenched the day after assessment. Vendor has nearly 700 classed breeding ewes on offer in this sale in 3 lines, all SIL to Poll Merino rams, presenting a great opportunity to secure a line of quality Merino breeders. The ewe lambs will also be offered in coming weeks.
