Assessor Comments
A smaller line of top quality FX ewes, Aug/Sept ‘20 drop, SIL 142% to their second drop of lambs to Poll Dorset rams. These young ewes are large-framed, stylish types, bred from classed-in EGELABRA blood ewes, by GLEN OAK & BINDAREE Border Leicester sires. As indicated by their live weight, these ewes have attained their full breeding potential, developing into heavy ewes with excellent depth & length of body. These ewes were purchased by the vendor as 1 year old maidens, as an income-generating alternative to overpriced weaner steers at the time, & are only being offered now, due to the current softening of the cattle market & a shift by the vendor, back towards their primary operation of growing & fattening steers. These blue ribbon breeders are in the prime of their lives, with all the hard work of nurturing these ewes from unjoined-maidens to the top notch, productive SIL breeders they are today, having already been done. Quantity is no substitute for quality. 100% sampled
