Assessor Comments
Good quality line of NSM maiden merino ewes. This group of 335 and another the same this sale, represents the lead draft of 1000 ewes being the classed out group, from 3000 in total drop. At assessment a visual draft was done first to remove a tail. All wool was inspected on assessed group and only three ewes removed with dermo. Weather conditions for the past six months have been extreme with floods. Ewes are relatively even as a group of classed out young ewes, that are ideal to shear and bank the proceeds, and then freshen up in condition to join. These ewes are bred from a highly regarded local flock with very good wool cut. Flock average is 7.5-8kg and 20-20.5 micron as a flock. Ewes will mature in genuine large frame heavy cutting females with good fertility if given the right opportunities. Ewes will be equally suited self replacing merino enterprise or terminal if desired. Flock has annual lambs to ewes joined percentage of 110%. Note 3% of ewes assessed carried horn or scur.

Skin Comment
Vendors management program is trying to keep these ewes on seed free country. No bathurst burr was noted at assessment but does grow in the country, as does some light corkscrew.
Wool Comment
Wool shows bright, soft handling. Approx 20% of ewes assessed in group carry a small degree of colour band(off the skin) from wet conditions on their shoulder. Please call for detail. All assessed ewes handled in wool, three dermo removed.
