250 - Merino ewes with 275 Merino & Dorset sired lambs at foot. Ewes are 2yrs to 4yrs, predominately 3 years. June shorn ewes have a good start in skin.
Approx 90% of ewes were joined to Alfoxton Merino Rams with approx 10% of ewes joined to Dorset Rams. Similar breed percentages were noted from the sample of lambs weighed. Lambs have been marked 3 weeks prior to assessment, lambs are untagged, with new season tags on order. If order does not arrive prior to delivery lambs will be tagged with previous years (multiple colours) tags. A number of ewe lambs were noted to have significant breech stain/dag post marking (see photos).
All ewes were wet & dried at assessment - obvious dry ewes were removed, please make your allowances for further dry ewes.
Purchasers please note that age break up is an estimation only based on the ages of the random sample assessed. Please use as a guide only.
