Assessor Comments
A smaller line of good quality, mature aged SIL FX Border Leicester ewes, that provide a great opportunity to lamb down a sizeable percentage of 2nd cross Poll Dorset lambs, take through to weaning & move the ewes on to the processors for a large percentage of your outlay returned. By far, (with a little patience) the most economical way to secure quality 2nd cross store lambs to fatten, when you consider the increase in progeny numbers above number of ewes purchased. Ewes are scanned for multiples, with 37 twins & 32 singles. This mob of scanned in lamb older ewes would be ideally suited to a purchaser looking for a relatively short term trade, with the option to take the future lambs beyond weaning, & further value add. Whilst all care has been taken to visually identify & remove any obvious faulty udders, ewes have not been individually bagged up a race. 1 ewe noticed with regrowth shorter wool up the sides from an earlier break in the wool. Odd scaley ears typical of 7 year old ewes
