Assessor Comments
A very nice line of true to type Merino ewe hoggets. Having being based on Dalveen bloodlines for 25 years, the sheep are very consistent in what they produce. Dalveen blood sheep are well known for their structure, length and depth of body and heavy cutting low to medium micron wools. They are true dual purpose ewes, perfect for not only continued merino production, but also as mothers for maternal & terminal cross bred production.
This line is the 2nds of the draft. Of those assessed, no ewe weighed below 44kg. They present in fresh store condition, clean & healthy in the head, good on their feet and legs, well mulesed, carrying nil seed & burr and from a flock which has had rams only bought in over the years.
A very good opportunity to secure a good line of young & genuine breeder ewes with the option of adding another draft of 160 slightly heavier ewe hoggets from this same sale.
A quality line of 245 black tag 5.5yo ewes in same sale as well.
