Assessor Comments
A rare opportunity to secure these 2016 drop ewes that are apart of the locally renowned 'Borambil' blood Molesworth flock. This lot are in line with the Molesworth breeding ewe dispersal in today’s sale, offering the chance to put together 1360 ewes that are joinable now. These ewes are classed in on wool type as weaners by Rex Bennett and provide a valuable wool clip (see doc attachments for 2021 wool results). They also provide value as breeders as the flock reared lambs to marking at 99% for the lambs by Merino rams and 110% for Poll Dorset X lambs marked this year. Below 10% of ewes were noted to have dry dag on breech and up to 20% have long toes, to be expected of ewes this age and from this country. 30 ewes were mouthed and all displayed good full mouths ranging from strong and blocky to getting long. As this is a nearly complete dispersal, the successful purchaser has the option to purchase sound Borambil Merino rams or Ferndale Poll Dorset rams off the vendor by negotiation
