Assessor Comments
A nice line of good quality, middle-aged SIL Merino ewes, once removed from the breeder, scanned 127% in lamb to DUNNIELD & LYNWOOD Border Leicester Rams. Ewes present mostly as medium framed breeders with around a quarter of larger framed ewes throughout the mob. These ewes are carrying a nice jacket of stylish wool which is starting to gain good length, & are all set to start lambing late August, just in ideal time for a flush of abundant Spring feed as the weather starts to warm up. These ewes are at the height of their productivity, and present multiple opportunities to either add further value by lambing down top quality FX Border lambs & trade on, or retain as quality breeders to replace older ewes at trade in values not seen in quite a while. 1 ewe noticed with 1 eye missing (old injury), & 2 ewes noted with small scur/horn. Genuine, hard to find classed in middle aged SIL breeders.
