8 head were missing 1 or 2 wing teeth with the balance of their teeth sound. 2 ewes were missing a tooth with the balance of their teeth sound and secure.
Assessor Comments
Mixed age classed breeder ewes SIL to Folleys Poll Dorset (Junee) rams. Ewes were joined from the 27/03-12/05 and scanned with 61 head bearing twins. Age breakup is 2018 drop - 21 hd, 2017 - 16 hd, 2016 - 22 hd, 2015 - 20 hd, 2014 - 14 hd, 2013 - 1 hd. All ewes 2016 drop and older were mouthed at assessment. 8 ewes were missing 1 or 2 wing teeth only and 2 ewes had a single tooth missing but all other teeth were sound. All ewes will handle lambing down this year and the majority will go around again. These sheep exhibit the true SRS characteristics with most crutches devoid of breach wrinkle, reducing the risk of fly strike in this area. These ewes have very plain open bodies which has been linked to fertility. Please note wool results are the flock average from ewes shorn at 7-9 months growth and converted to a 12 months average. All ewes are Gudair vaccinated at lamb marking. Top quality poll merino ewes. Should anyone require any information please call.
