Assessor Comments
Presenting a proven line of young 1st cross ewes rising 2 years that have been running with Poll Dorset rams. These ewes are only being offered as the vendors normally run a 1st cross breeding operation. They elected to keep and join these ewes last year and have weaned big lambs off them recently. The Poll Dorset rams were depastured with these ewes prior to weaning which the vendors suspect may have initially hampered the ewes cycling and delayed conception. Approx 78 ewes from this mob scanned in lamb and are also available if required. Scanning was done 11th May and rams left in after that. The lambs were weaned off on 10/3/21. The majority of ewes assessed were 3 score, strong and healthy. The anomaly with scanning undetectable is most likely due to leaving the lambs on the ewes longer than normal while the ewes were doing such a good job on them. The odd ewe had a black spot on leg and some have bathurst burr (pics). Very good quality ewes.

Only offering to replace with Merino's. Kept these ewes in the drought and all had lambs. Scanning was probably too early as ewes still had lambs on them untill 10/3/21.
