Spring Ponds use predominantly Tallawong rams with influence from Hazeldean sires. The vendor selects for wool quantity and quality, low micron and sound constitution.

On offer is a nice line of 210 September/ October 2020 drop merino ewe hoggets. Bred on the vendors two properties these ewes represent the surplus portion of their ewe lambs from a drop of 1200. 30% were classed out with a further 10% tail removed to offer this line to the market. The ewes present in excellent health and have just been crutched by the vendor. The ewes offered are surplus to requirements, they are largely very good young ewes who will grow into medium to large framed matrons who will produce a significant amount of high quality low micron wool, whilst raring a lamb. Approx 10% of ewes have light dermatitis due to the very wet year, in general these same ewes have some water stain in the wither. Buyers please note, the wether portion whom were not tipped as lambs just returned $81/ head with tests of 16.6 fd @ 4.9kg/ head. These are high performance wool cutters.

Our annual sale of surplus ewe hoggets. These young ewes have had an incredibly wet 14 months over their lives and present well for sale. We recently sold the wool off their brothers, they cut 4.9kg of 16.6 micron wool and returned $81/head.
