Cattle were good to handle in the yards. Two heifers were flighty but wanting to avoid rather than engage. All ran through race easily and have been educated. Heifers have been handled with dogs but are good mothers and resented the dogs, protecting their calves. Generally quiet in yards.

Assessor Comments
Presenting a smart lot of Angus Santa heifers with 2 to 4 month old Angus calves at foot and redepastured to quality stud Clunie Range Angus bull. The Heifers are well grown for age as weights suggest and in forward condition despite having reasonable size calves on them. They are doing a great job on those calves with most having good bags of milk at assessment. Three heifers show more cross (Brangus) traits. The calves are very even with 15 being born within about 18 days of each other. One calf has more of a red tinge through coat (see pics). They were nice units to work with in the yards, nothing aggressive. Vendor mentioned they are very protective in the paddock and resented any dogs on the ground. We walked through and took photos without issue. The calves have been marked and most of the bull calves had not dropped their purse at assessment. The Heifers averaged 562kg after 2 hrs in yards. The calves averaged 155kg. Nice units to keep and breed with.
