Comment on Fat Score 1 Cattle
Cows are in a light store condition typical of second round northern breeders at this time of year. cows have had weaners pulled off in first round and have done it reasonably tough through this period. if trucking distances greater than 800km a spell would be highly recommended. although light in condition cows are considered fit and healthy with adequate energy levels.

Generally good to handle. This mob has a sound temperament and although a small percentage became agitated in the head bail or race with close pressure settled quickly and comfortably after exiting the headbail. these cows handled well and had no concerns moving between yards or through the pound with only a small percentage requiring some extra space and time. odd cow when singled out in a yard became moderately agitated until back in the mob however no cows considered aggressive.

6 decks of aged PTIC cows with majority being 2nd to 3rd trimester. small percentage of younger cows culled on temperament, balance culled on age only. cows are in light store condition typical of 2nd round northern breeders and present with good moderate frame and reasonable weight given their condition. predominately vendor bred out of a highly functional herd of cows based on CBV Brahman genetics with an emphasis on fertility, non vendor bred portion purchased with property and are of a similar quality and type with some charbray influence. pregnancy break up is 20 x 1st trimester, 69 x 2nd trimester with 43 x 3rd trimester. majority being in the end of each trimester. cows are coming out of lighter country and should continue to perform for buyers on better nutrition. 25% black and brindle, 38% grey, 37% Reds and honeys odd cow with a baldy face. Preg-tested by vendor 2 weeks prior to assessment and 3 weeks prior to this sale, odd heavy pregnant cow may need to be replaced.

A good quality line of breeders that are culled on age only. functional, fertile cows that have proven themselves time and time again. still plenty of calves left in the majority of these cows.
