Cattle are quite easy to handle through the yards. They don’t like pressure or being isolated but calmed down quickly when returned to the mob. Well handled cattle that will block up. Cattle when assessed had their calves removed overnight with a dry curfew of 16 hours. Cattle were much more settled when calves returned to them and given a drink and a feed. Absolutely nothing got aggressive during handling.

Assessor Comments
Very nice line of quality 1st calf heifers with cracking vealers at foot! These cows have had the opportunity back to quality Red Angus bulls (see joining details). Quality proven breeders of the future. Our vendors are absolutely fastidious when it comes to animal health, vaccinations and drenching they’re cattle to assist them to breed on and perform, this is evident as calves and cows have been drenched and calves had booster vaccination at assessment. The calves would make excellent vealers through the winter and early spring with the view to calve down these heifers with their second calf. Please note both cows and calves had been split and given a dry curfew of 16 hours prior to assessment. 1 smaller bull calf identified with 2 tags only had 1 testicle descended at marking remains unmarked.
