Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These steers were good to handle both in crush and the larger yards. In the crush just four steers would not fully settle in the crush and exited the crush quickly. In the bigger yards they were were very settled and were a pleasure to handle and assess.

Assessor Comments
A mostly good to very good quality line of vendor bred backgrounder steers. These steers are normally taken through to export feeder weights and sold to local feedlots. However the summer season has meant they just havent got going. Rain a month ago has meant they have chased a green pick but they have really started to put weight back on in the past two weeks. They are nice and healthy and with frame and very little condition they are primed to add weight quickly. They are a nice soft crossbred breed type with just three steers showing a very small degree of hump and would very likely go into a flatback program. Active pink eye was observed in some heifers in the same mob while assessing and the steers will be rechecked prior to loading. Ideal steers to put away for pasture or an oats crop.
