Cattle were good to very good to handle throughout the yards and crush. In the crush most entered and stood quietly with just two head slightly nervous in the crush. They were settled in the yards and flowed easily from one yard to the next.

Assessor Comments
A good to fair quality line of vendor bred EU Angus and Angus x steers. They are medium frame and suit to background to a range of export and domestic markets, including the export feeder market. They are grain and antibiotic free and would also be eligible for a pasture finished program. Vendor has an extended but not continuous calving and has multiple paddock based weanings each year. They are sired by good quality Te Mania Angus bulls. No steers with active pink eye were seen on the day but the yards and the paddocks are very dry. They will be rechecked prior to delivery. Note the delivery period following the sale, the vendor would appreciate a quick delivery. The season has been very tough, these steers will respond quickly to feed.

Grazing native and improved pasture. Summer has been and continues to be dry and the feed is very short and dry. Steers are being given round bales of oaten hay in paddock and will have access to hay in yards prior to loading.
