These weaners have been weaned for the past 2 weeks and are still fairly flighty, but have settled better than previous lots. There are ring leaders that move rapidly in the bigger yards and they need to be steadied down through a gateway, not unusual. Nothing in the mob that could be considered aggressive. Would encourage buyers to allow heifers sufficient time to settle down on arrival prior to being shown the 'bush gate'. Would benefit from further weaning protocols and maybe tailed out.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, 5-decks of Consuelo EU ACCREDITED and PCAS ELIGIBLE Santa backgrounder heifers being offered in one 3-deck and one 2-deck lot. These have developed a great reputation and been offered on A+ for the past 10 years and always seem to attract plenty of repeat buyers who have commented on the great performance these heifers deliver them. They have presented in excellent condition, and I would suggest these will really hit their straps on improved and native pastures where the seasonal conditions allow. They are genetically very sound cattle and would be ideal to put away for the long term and grow out to become top quality future breeders. I have been assessing cattle at Consuelo for 10 years and I truly believe these are the best crop of weaners I have ever assessed for them. They demonstrate terrific carcass traits with weight for age, softness, length and depth of barrel evident. Clean country buyers note they are offered GUARANTEED CLEAR of the dip, should clear on Monday.
