Heifers were very good to handle in the yards. Majority were nice and quiet while in the race and crush with just six Hfrs which became slightly agitated in the crush and exited quickly. All settled once back in the yard together and all remained quiet when being photographed. The vendor runs a cell grazing operation and steers are used to electric fences. Vendor handles stock using Low Stress Stock Handling techniques.

Assessor Comments
A good to mostly very good quality line of Shorthorn and Shorthorn Angus Cross EU accredited heifers. These vendor bred heifers range from 23% medium frame through to 77% large frame. They suit to take to the heavy end of domestic feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality slaughter markets. Assessed into a tight weight range of 250 - 300 kg full. They were yard weaned in April using LSSH techniques and have been treated with 2 shots of 7 in 1, Pestigard, Mulitmin and Rhinogard IBR. Due to the dry season earlier this year they were confined and fed a grain based ration until late June. For the past month they have been back on clover and winter herbage. They are soft in the coat and are moving ahead nicely.
