Assessor Comments
Buyers, a double-deck lot of good quality Angus steers bred from Angus females purchased from the New England area. These are in mainly store condition, bred on lighter country and are just starting to clean up in the coat so I would expect these to provide plenty of compensatory gain and fly ahead if they get access to good quality feed or crop on some heavier country. These steers are very quiet and the vendor’s always do an excellent job throughout the weaning process and is reflected in these. These are ideal to background to heavier domestic or export feeder weights. There is a bit of a weight range which is quite common in weaners and is a reflection of the gap in their age of 7-10 months. These don’t look to have had any setbacks, it did get dry here back in the winter but were weaned later to give them every chance to grow out. These cattle are attracting repeat buyers so that is evidence they must perform. Time to shop because once the rain comes, they will only get dearer.
