Steers were generally very good to handle in the yards and through the crush. 6 head would not settle fully in the crush or exited quickly. All settled once back in the yard except one steer who would rush when moving from one side of the yard to other. Fine when not under pressure and nothing aggressive noted.

Assessor Comments
A mostly good to very good quality line of vendor bred Angus EU accredited steers. With medium to large frame they suit to background to heavy Angus export feeder weights or alternatively to take directly onto feed for the domestic feeder market. This property has two calving periods (summer and winter) and the approx 30% from the late summer 2023 calving show slightly lower weight for age due to the difficult season last winter while the majority which are approx 14 months old show good weight for age. The steers have been grazing oats for approx 6 weeks and are cleaning up their winter coat and moving ahead nicely. Four steers noted with a mild blue spot on one eye - not detrimental. They have had 5 in 1 and a Vit A,D & E shot with a booster at weaning. They had a Coopers Easy Dose backline on the 04/10/24 and are PCAS Eligible. Please note 7 Angus x steers not included in the line - same weight range available post sale to fill trucks if required.
