Steers were good to handle in the yards, they worked well through the yards and crush. There was no signs of aggression from any of the steers although the odd one stirred up when put under pressure or was separated from there mates. Steers were good to handle and inspect in the paddock prior to assessment in the yards.

Assessor Comments
A good line of mostly medium framed black flatback backgrounder type steers. A sample of 52 steers were mouthed with 50 0t & 2 1t. Steers have been running on light desert spinifex country, so expect to see excellent weight gains on better feed. Please note 1 steer at assessment was noted as having a small hard lump on the offside shoulder which appears to be an old injection scar. Steers will suit southern feedlot backgrounders. Buyers please note there maybe an odd No 2 in steers, although none were noticed at assessment some brands were unreadable due to heavy coats. PLEASE NOTE: Vendor has another two lines of backgrounder steers available in this weeks sale. 112 Red flatback steers and 123 Crossbred flatback steers

Vendor Comments
A good line of flatback type backgrounder steers that have been running in Desert upland spinifex type country. Steers are being sold to lighten paddocks due to ongoing dry conditions. Expect these steers to fire ahead on heavier country.
