Assessor Comments
GOOD QUALITY LINE OF WHITE DORPER EWE LAMBS THAT HAVE BEEN RUNNING WITH WHITE DORPER RAMS UNTIL ASSESSMENT ON 26/3. EWES WERE SCANNED ON 27/3 AND 63% WERE DETECTED IN LAMB WITH THE BALANCE UNDETECTABLE. THE SCANNER NOTED THAT THE MAJORITY WERE ONLY 30-50 DAYS IN LAMB SO THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT A FAIR NUMBER OF THE UNDETECTABLE EWES MAY BE IN EARLY STAGES OF PREGNANCY. THE ‘WOOLCUNDA’ FLOCK IS BASED ON WHITE DORPER GENETICS AND SELECT ON FERTILITY, SHEDDING AND DOING ABILITY WHILE MAINTAINING SHEEP THAT HAVE A BIT OF LEG UNDER THEM. THESE ARE IDEAL EWES FOR PASTORAL CONDITIONS WITH PROVEN ABILITY TO WALK AND FORAGE IN A RANGELAND ENVIRONMENT. PLEASE NOTE A SMALL PERCENTAGE SHOWING BROWN COLOURING AND ALSO 3 BLACK HEAD EWES. VENDOR ONLY USES WHITE RAMS BUT DOES GET A FEW THROW A BIT OF COLOUR. NOTE VENDOR ALSO LEAVES A BIT OF LENGTH ON TAILS TO PROTECT FROM SKIN CANCERS. A HANDFUL ALSO HAD RINGS PUT ON TAILS AT SCANNING. GOOD YOUNG EWES TO SUIT SHEDDING BUYERS!!
